Around the world in 5 minutes (If thats how much time you take to read this!)

This piece will orbit around various topics and complete its revolution from the topic it started. I would like to start by saying, “Love is an inexpressible feeling of immense joy”. This love has its own forms. Take for instance the Greeks; they had in their vocabulary many a words jus to describe the various types of love. ‘Eros’ meant sensual love and ‘agape’ meant divine love. One of my favorite civilizations of all times has been the Egyptian civilization. This civilization portrayed in it luxury and royalty along with tyranny deceit and greed. Talking about civilizations my roots I cannot forget, the civilization that was born on the banks of river Indus and was cradled at Harappa and Mohinjodaro, the Indus valley civilization that had the most advanced system of calculations and used a great variety of complex formulae.

This first thing that comes to my mind at the very thought of formulae is one of the greatest scientist, Sir Albert Einstein. e = mc2 is a marvel of the kinetic force. He could calculate numbers up to the exact last point.

As statistics students we are taught to estimate numbers up to 2 decimal points to make life less complicated and more practical. Calculations are a very interesting, so are the studies of business. I remember this lecturer of mine telling us once in class that in today’s world, “ A manager is one who requires a employee with 25 years of age and 45 years of experience”

Not true in all cases. Look at the easy source of income today. “Call Center job” as its christened. Here the employers look out for candidates with any age and no experience. The impact of the BPO’s has made a dramatic effect on the economy. The American companies have captured the minds of a generation who are being made to slog a meager wage. Isn’t this like the times in history when the British literally captured India with disguise of trade?

The release of the movie ‘Lage raho munna bhai’ was like the repeating of the values and principles that were laid down during the freedom struggle. The modernization of the whole Gandhian principles revised the minds of all generations. And the influence of movies is the theme of an incident I’m relating here. It was the other day when my cousins were playing a peaceful game and in a playful mood one of them slapped the other and the one who got slapped showed her other cheek and said “Gandhi had said in the movie that if anyone slaps one cheek then show them another”. Little did she know that her brother was only too happy with Gandhi’s principles that he slapped her 3 times on the other cheek, and the poor girl had to go to bed with tears and a swollen lip.

Talking about influence you can see today the influence of the western culture in every aspect of life. Be it the clothes or the accent, the modern generation feels that it is ‘cool’ or ‘hep’ to copy the westerners. Influence of the west is also seen in the various technologies and other everyday priorities which has made our life more easier and dependent on machines from a nail clipper to the top machines used in industries. A part of the credit goes to the industrial revolution that took place during the 19th century.

This industrial revolution brought along with it various ………………………….. amongst which pollution is one of the major factor for the deterioration of the environment. Various kind of pollutants everyday given out by the industries all over the world take mother earth one step closer to a world of risk and fearful living.

For a moment wouldn’t it be pure bliss to forget everything and imagine a green world full of serene peace, picturesque beauty, melting colors and just miles and miles of wild flowers. This is the exact thought that kick starts my day. The concept of nature is so very ancient yet the very thought would bring instant mental freshness shooing off every burden and worry of the world.

I find the phenomenon of weather in nature very intriguing and fascinating. My favorite being rains. A season of newness, a season to forget it all and cuddle down with someone u love, a season a hot chocolate, a season of romance, a season of love which brings me back to my first topic LOVE which truly is inexpressible form of immense joy.
